Public Hearing on Moorestown Budget Set for Monday Night

The introduced budget was $23,608,702, with no proposed tax rate increase.

Moorestown voters have their say on the 2014 budget Monday night.

The public hearing and final approval for the budget is scheduled for Monday night’s council meeting at the municipal complex, 111 West Second Street, 7:30 p.m.

The introduced budget includes $1,509,300 to be raised by taxation. The average Moorestown home assessed at $445,300 would pay $1,799 in taxes annually.

Council will also discuss Strawbridge Lake Dam repairs and a sixth liquor license bid, according to the agenda posted on the township’s website Friday afternoon.

There are 10 items listed on the Consent Agenda, including the authorization of a $32,771.08 contract change for the town hall/library project.
