BOE Holds Reorganization Meeting

Don Mishler elected president in annual meeting.

The Moorestown Board of Education held its reorganization meeting Monday.

Incumbents Don Mishler and Christina Zajac and newly elected Leigh Powell were sworn in to office.

Mishler was re-elected as board president. Kathy Goldenberg, whose term expires in 2013, was elected vice president. Zajac, who had served as vice president, chose not to run this year.

The board also announced its 2011-12 meeting schedule. Regular action meetings will be held the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the William Allen Middle School. Executive sessions will be held at 5 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month in the administration building. In addition, there will be a board meeting at 7:30 p.m. June 1 at WAMS.

The reorganization also included the appointment of the following positions:

  • Board Secretary and Purchasing Agent: Lynn E. Shugars
  • Affirmative Action Officer: Susan M. Powell
  • Pest Management Coordinator: Greg McCarty
  • Treasurer of School Monies: Thomas Merchel

The following professional appointments were also approved:

  • Architect of Record: Garrison Architects
  • Auditor: Michael Holt, CPA, P.S.A., of Holman and Frenia, P.C.
  • Labor Negotiatior: Garry M. Whalen
  • School Physician: Dr. R. Blair Summersgill, Moorestown Family Practice

The board also approved tuition rates for the 2011-12 school year as follows:
