Five Things You Need to Know About the School Board Election

Residents will vote on the school budget and elect three Board of Education candidates.

  1. The will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 27.
  2. Residents will be asked to vote yes or no for the . The budget will raise taxes $80 on the average assessed home in Moorestown. The average home in Moorestown is assessed at $533,800.
  3. Residents will be asked to fill three seats on the Board of Education. Each position is for a term of three years. Three names will appear on the ballot– and . Mishler and Zajac are incumbents. There is also a write-in candidate for one of the seats, .
  4. To vote for a write-in candidate, follow these instructions: Personal choice (write-in) instructions will be locatd on the sample ballots and will be explained on the ballot in the booth. 1. Upon entering the voting booth, locate the office you wish to vote for at the top of the ballot and follow this column down to the personal choice column and press the button. 2. A green " " arrow will begin to flash. (Note: The " " will continue to flash until the write-in is completed.) 3. At the bottom of the ballot is the maroon write-in pad, which is approximately waist high. Type in the first name of the candidate for whom you wish to vote. Then use the arrow key for the space, and then type in the last name of the candidate. Now press "Enter" which is located on the pad. If an error on the write-in is made, before you press enter on the write-in keypad, press the arrow key to the left until the error is cleared. Then re-type the name. To make a space, press the arrow key to the right. After you have completed voting the entire ballot, press the orange "Cast Vote" button located on your lower right-hand side. Do not press the cast vote button until you are sure you finished voting.
