Moorestown Ex-Superintendent Center of Controversy in CT

Paul Kadri, former Moorestown superintendent, is being investigated by Connecticut's Groton School District for his interactions with district employees.

Former superintendent Paul Kadri was  last month—where he has served as superintendent since 2008—pending an investigation into his “interactions with and treatment of district employees.”

The action also bars Kadri from having contact with any school employee, board member or even stepping on school property.

Kadri served as Moorestown’s superintendent for several years before resigning in 2006. He served as the Neshaminy (PA) School District superintendent until 2008, when he took over as Groton’s superintendent.

During his Moorestown tenure, Kadri took a very business-like approach to running the district, according to school board President Don Mishler, but created an “unsettling” environment for many members of the school community.

Moorestown Education Association (MEA) president Lisa Trapani described Kadri as “divisive” and “arrogant” in his dealings with the MEA and others in the district.

Controversy has seemingly followed Kadri to Groton, where board members said he was an "aggressive, goal-oriented administrator," but had contributed to some divisiveness in local government.

Dottie Hoyt, a former Groton administrator, filed , saying Kadri had created a hostile work environment and caused her to develop an anxiety disorder, then refused to accommodate her disability. .

Groton School District continues to pay Kadri his base salary of $167,475 while he remains on leave pending an investigation.

After Kadri left Moorestown, he was replaced by interim superintendent Timothy Brennan. Current Superintendent John Bach took over from Brennan in 2007.
