Public Forum for Superintendent Search Tonight

West Hudson Associates, the superintendent search firm hired by the district, will solicit opinions from the community at William Allen tonight.

West Hudson Associates, the firm to aid in the search for a new superintendent, will host a community forum at 7 p.m. tonight at the .

Board Member Matt Simeone, superintendent search committee chair, said residents will have an "open microphone" at the meeting.

"Anyone can come and offer their opinions ... unfiltered," he said. 

West Hudson had also solicited the public's opinion via survey beginning in mid-November. Simeone said the deadline for surveys to be submitted was last Friday and West Hudson and the district are now in the process of compiling date from those surveys.

Superintendent John Bach will end his five-year tenure as superintendent at the end of the 2012 school year.

Bach is resigning as a result of the  imposed by Gov. Chris Christie, which restricts superintendents from earning more than the governor’s salary of $175,000.

According to Simeone, a search for a new superintendent is usually a six- to eight-month process.
