Athlete of the Week: Sidney Ruffin

Moorestown sophomore excels at two sports.

Name: Sidney Ruffin

Year: Sophomore

Bio: An excellent all-around athlete and two-sport star for the Quakers. He plays wide receiver and cornerback for the football team. Ruffin is a sprinter and also competes in the long jump for the track team.

This past weekend at the Moorestown Invitational track meet, he anchored the 4-x-200-meter relay to a third-place finish in a time of 1 minutes, 32.50 seconds, which is one second off the team record which was set in 1972.

Football or Track?
Both.

What is your favorite event in track?
I like the long jump or 4-x-100.

What is your pre-event ritual?
I do a lot of step sets and stride outs to get loose. I like to listen to a lot of music, mostly R&B and hip hop.

What to do you like best about representing Moorestown High School?
I like to take the field and share the experience with my teammates.

What is your favorite subject:
Math.

What is best thing they serve in the high school cafeteria for lunch?
I would say the mozzarella sticks.

What is the worst thing they serve in the high school cafeteria for lunch?
The egg and bacon sandwich.

What is your favorite meal?
A nice cheeseburger.

How do you like to relax?
I like to go out with friends and hang out.

What TV show or movie could you watch over and over?
NCIS: LA.

Who is one person you look up to?
My dad (Shawn).

Where to you see yourself in 10 years?
I want to be a mechanical engineer.
