Donors Help Erect New Scoreboard at Wesley Bishop

In-kind donations from several contractors helped the Moorestown Lacrosse Club and Moorestown Youth Football replace their defunct scoreboard.

Thanks to generous in-kind donors, a pair of Moorestown sports clubs were able to obtain a new scoreboard for the existing turf field at Wesley Bishop North after years without a working one.

Kelly Dalmass, president of the Moorestown Lacrosse Club, said she and the Moorestown Youth Football Association (MYFA) have been trying for the last few years to get their hands on a new scoreboard.

Dalmass was unable to apply an exact dollar value to the services that were provided, but the cost for the scoreboard for the new turf field in the Wesley Bishop North project is roughly $25,000.

"The generosity of particular individuals, the owners really, is overwhelming," she said. "I don't even know how to thank them enough."

Presently, only the lacrosse club and MYFA have plans to use the scoreboard, but Dalmass said she has been contacted by other sports organizations in town inquiring about using it.

The recreation department's field hockey and lacrosse teams, as well as the high school soccer and field hockey teams, all use the field, according to Dalmass.

"It's definitely a need," she said. "When people come to this beautiful field and the scoreboard doesn't work ... it sort of detracts."
