MFS Suffers Narrow Defeat in State Title Game

The Moorestown Friends School boys soccer team took on No. 1-ranked Gill St. Bernard's in the NJSIAA Non-Public B South final Thursday night.

Despite a strong postseason performance, the Moorestown Friends School (MFS) boys soccer team fell short in its quest to bring home its first state title in 30 years.

MFS faced No. 1-ranked Gill St. Bernard's (GSB) in the NJSIAA Non-Public B South final Thursday night. The Foxes played a close game that went scoreless for the first 41 minutes. The Knights ended up pulling out a 2-1 win.

Moorestown Friends, which went into the game as the No. 3 seed, finishes the season with a 13-7-1 record.

MFS's last state championship came in 1979, when it defeated St. Cecelia's 1-0 in the Non-Public B final.
