Middle School A Team Wins Title

Quakes beat Shawnee 6-4 in ice hockey championship.

After trailing 2-0 early to Shawnee, the Moorestown Quakes kicked it into overdrive to win the SJYHL Middle School A championship 6-4.

Moorestown tied Shawnee 2-2 at the end of the first period.

Captain Brian Aji and Johnnie Yedman scored two goals each for the Quakes. Evan Cauler and Alex Crowl also scored for Moorestown.

Shawnee outshot Moorestown 27-16, but goalies Dominic Romeo and Nick DeFrancisco held the Renegades to four goals.

“It was a team effort and I am very proud of what we accomplished here," coach John Romeo said. "It’s a very exciting time for the Moorestown Hockey Club."

The Moorestown Quakes Ice Hockey team will be holding evalutaions for the spring season March 22 at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees.

Evaluations for players in fourth through seventh grade will be held at 7 p.m. Evaluations for high school teams, grades eight through 12, will be held at 8:10 p.m.
