Moorestown Baseball Team to Compete in Diamond Classic

The Quakers open play against Washington Township Saturday morning.

The Moorestown High School baseball team is one of 16 teams who will compete in the 41st Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic, nj.com reports.

The Quakers earned an at-large bid to the tournament, and will open play against Washington Township, the automatic qualifier out of the Olympic Conference American Division.

First pitch for this game is set for 10:30 a.m. at Deptford High School. The winner faces the winner of the ensuing game between Williamstown and Cedar Creek.

The Quakers are 11-4 this season and have visits to Rancocas Valley and Pennsauken scheduled before this weekend's game.

Washington Township is 13-3 and visits Bishop Eustace and Eastern Regional and hosts Lenape this week.

The first place teams in the nine South Jersey high school baseball divisions earn automatic bids to the tournament. Seven teams earn at-large bids based on ranking.
