Moorestown Basketball Teams Set to Start Playoff Charge

The boys are seeded fourth. The girls are No. 9.

With just two weeks to go before the start of the playoffs, the Moorestown High School basketball teams learned just what they’ll have to do to make a run at a championship.

The boys are seeded fourth and will host No. 13 Winslow in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs on March 3 at 5 p.m., according to nj.com.

The winner faces the winner of the game between No. 5 Westampton Tech and No. 12 Central Regional.

Mainland is the No. 1 seed in the 16-team field.

Despite its high seed, the Quakers haven’t won a game since a 65-50 win over Pennsauken on Jan. 31. They have a road contest at Cinnaminson before the home finale against Trenton Catholic on Feb. 19 remaining before the playoffs roll around.

Winslow also has not seen a victory in February. Their last win was over Sterling on Jan. 25.

The girls are seeded ninth in the 16-team field, and visit No. 8 Seneca in the first round of the playoffs on March 3 at 5 p.m., according to nj.com.

The winner faces the winner of the game between No. 1 Timber Creek and No. 16 Hammonton.

The Quakers host Cinnaminson in their final home game of the regular season. They wrap up the 2013-14 regular season campaign with road games at New Egypt, Willingboro and Holy Cross.
