Moorestown, Moorestown Friends Earns Top Seeds in Tennis Team Playoffs

Moorestown Friends' Grace Kim and Moorestown's Breezy Maravich were seeded in the individual state tournament, which begins Saturday.

The first high school sports playoff season is right around the corner.

The girls’ tennis team playoffs are set to begin Thursday, with the individual and doubles state tournaments beginning this weekend.

Seedings were announced and posted on nj.com Monday morning.

Moorestown and Moorestown Friends each earned the top spots in their respective groups.

Moorestown was seeded No. 1 in South Jersey Group 3 and will host No. 16 Camden in the first round.

Moorestown Friends grabbed the top seed in Non-Public South B. There are 10 teams in the field, meaning Moorestown Friends will likely play the winner of an opening round matchup.

No. 7 Rutgers Prep will likely play No. 10 Our Lady of Mercer Academy (OLMA), and No. 8 St. Rose will likely play No. 9 Trenton Catholic in the opening round matchups.

Moorestown Friends freshman and first singles player Grace Kim was seeded in the 5-8 range in the state singles tournament, which commences Saturday at the Mercer County Park Tennis Center, 9 a.m.

Moorestown senior and first singles player Breezy Maravich is seeded in the 9-16 range in the singles tournament.

Kim defeated Maravich to win the Burlington County Open first singles title this year, according to the Burlington County Times.

Members of the Moorestown Friends tennis team won four of the five Burlington County Open individual titles, according to the report.
