Red Edges Teal in Rec Basketball

Columbia beats Dartmouth.

Red scored 6 points in the fourth quarter to edge Teal 16-15 in Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation girls’ fourth- and fifth-grade basketball action.

Emily Basara led all scorers with 11 points for Red; Tori Britton chipped in 5. Sierra Wehn had 9 for Teal, while Paige Coleman added 6.

Blue 8, Maroon 6: Francesca Li, Olivia Vosbikian and Kayla Frank all scored for Blue. Maggie Brown, Rylee Brown and Cici Reed had two points each for Maroon.

Black 12, Yellow 11: Yellow held off a fourth-quarter surge by Black for the win. Cassandra Lis had 6 points for Black. Asha Bezwada had 6 points for Yellow, including 5 in the fourth quarter.

Third-grade boys

Columbia 29, Dartmouth 10: Cole Gaskin scored 10 points and Evan Francisco had 8 to lead Columbia. Dov McGuire-Berk had 6 for Dartmouth.

Brown 22, Cornell 14: Colin Ginley and Connor McDonough had 8 points each for Brown. Sam Caputo (5) and Ben Simpson (4) led Cornell.

Princeton 35, Yale 17: Nick Blank scored 10 points for Princeton while Kevin Muhic added 7. Shane Knobloch led Yale with 10 points and Caleb Kravitz chipped in 6.

Harvard 18, Penn 0: Chris Furze led Harvard with 12 points.

Third-grade girls

White 14, Purple 13: Devin Conaty led all scorers with 6 points and Katie Kapostas had 4 to lead White.  Maggie DeMarco and Kerry O’Sullivan had 4 points each for Purple.

Team Devine 38, Team Regovich 0: Katherine Burt had 16 points for Team Devine.

Team O’Donnell 8, Team McCormick 2: Alexandra Magda led all scorers with 6 points for Team O’Donnell. Ilana Jacobs scored for Team McCormick.

 Fourth-grade boys

Oral Roberts 20, Chicago 16: Marc Takla had 10 points for Oral Roberts. Brian O’Neil led Chicago with 6 points. Mason Eldridge and Nick Cartwright added 4 points each for Chicago.

Southern Utah 12, Western Illinois 5: Austin Domer led Southern Utah with 8 points. Fouad Yazbeck had 5 points for Western Illinois.

 Fifth- and sixth-grade boys

Boston 34, Stony Brook 19: Michael Harrop led all scorers with 20 points for Boston. Andrew Lin had 8 points and Tim Fleming had 5 for Stony Brook.

Hartford 18, UMBC 6: Ryan Greer had 8 points to lead Hartford. Chris Cooper had 4 for UMBC.

Albany 21, Northeastern 14: Brian Clark had 9 points to lead Albany. Ryan Pozega and Michael Sherot had 6 points each for Northeastern.

Maine 34, Binghamton 22: Carter Button had 19 points to lead all scorers; Brett Berrodin added 11 for Maine. Joe Dietz led Binghamton with 14.

Vermont 32, New Hampshire 12: Michael Holt had 10 points for Vermont and Coby Gluck added 8. Tommy Schurer had 6 for New Hampshire.

Seventh- and eighth-grade boys

Penn 49, St. Josephs 34: Kyle and Jordan Austin combined for 43 points for Penn. Sean O’Sullivan led St. Josephs with 16 points while Quinn Smith chipped in 10.

LaSalle 29, Temple 28: JD Schurer had 1 points to lead LaSalle. Quinton Law and John Cedano combined for 24 points for Temple.

Drexel 33, Villanova 31: Stephen Wasdyke led all scorers with 17 points, scoring 11 in the fourth quarter to lead Drexel. Neil Mookerjee chipped in 12 for Drexel. Ben Litt had 16 points for Villanova while Kevin Calhoun added 8.

Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade girls

Red 12, Green 2: Liz Ehrline had 6 points for Red. Shannon Vizzard led Green.

Light Blue 15, Green 11: Claire Miano and Danielle Scola had 5 points each for Light Blue. Kyra Fox and Siena Cashan had 4 points each for Green.

Orange 16, Gray 6: Julie Leonard-Duke led all scorers with 14 points. Kaitlyn Madara and Emily Schneider scored for Gray.

Red-Gold 14, Dark Blue 10: Paige Melton had 10 points to lead Red-Gold. Amanda Smith had 7 for Dark Blue.
