MHS Grad Wins $5,000 for College

Brenna Fallows's years of community service helped her snag a scholarship for Villanova University.

A Moorestown teen will head to Villanova University with a bit more cash in her pocket after winning a Volunteer Center of Burlington County scholarship.

Brenna Fallows received the center’s top scholarship of $5,000 for her many years of community service. She is one of six Burlington County teens to win a scholarship.

“These are outstanding young people who have displayed not only a lengthy record of participation in many community service activities, but also an ability and willingness to organize and lead,” Laufer said. “In addition, all of these young people have stellar academic records.

“We’re extremely proud of them, and pleased to have the opportunity to assist them as they move into the next phase of their academic careers.”

Fallows’s community service spans several organizations. She’s on the teen advisory council for the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey. She’s a USO volunteer at Fort Dix, a vacation Bible school and CCD teacher and a Moorestown Library volunteer. She also won Rotary Youth Leadership awards, served with Moorestown High School’s Interact Club and participated in an Appalachian service project.

The recent Moorestown graduate also attended Girls State in 2012.

Fallows plans to attend Villanova’s School of Business in the coming year.

  • Matthew Delancy, Shawnee High School: $5,000
  • Matthew O’Rorke, Shawnee High School: $3,000
  • Colleen Aydolette, Holy Cross High School: $3,000
  • Melissa McIntosh, Willingoro High School: $3,000
  • Brett Jacobs, Cherokee Regional High School: $3,000
