Volunteers Plan 4th of July Parade Festivities

The parade committee will kick off its new Freedom Lecture Series in June with a presentation at the Moorestown Library.

Moorestown will once again celebrate its “history of independence, its culture of freedom” with an Independence Day parade on July 4.

The parade will start off at noon on Chester and Central avenues and proceed along Main Street and end at Church Street. This year’s theme is the Liberty Bell, in honor of the iconic bell’s first arrival in Philadelphia 260 years ago.

was a huge success, supported by the residents and businesses of Moorestown. This year, the committee is looking to keep the support going.

The parade committee will once again host to involve downtown businesses in the festivities. This year, contest judging will take place on the morning of the parade.

New to the parade this year is an educational component. The Moorestown Freedom Lecture Series will kick off June 14—Flag Day—with an evening lecture at the . The presentation will feature lectures by Garry Stone of the Indian King Tavern Museum, Haddonfield, and Lenny Wagner of the .
