Candlelight Night, Epilepsy Fundraiser Highlight Week Ahead

Also, find out what's on the agenda for Monday's town council meeting and when Moorestown kids can start collecting Halloween candy.

Moorestown has a busy week ahead, starting Monday night with the regular township council meeting.

Among the items on the agenda—which include a discussion about a future meeting at Lenola Fire Hall and Main Street parking—council will consider several change orders to various projects, including a $35,000 deduct to the Church Street recreation center improvement project and an additional $70,000 for the town hall/library project.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the IT room at Moorestown High School.

The township has set the "Mischief Night" (Oct. 30) curfew for 8:30 p.m., while trick-or-treating for Halloween day/night is scheduled from 1-10 p.m. Students will be let out early Thursday to give them a headstart (it's also a teacher in-service).

Speaking of headstarts, swing by Main Street Friday night for Candlelight Night. The annual Moorestown Business Association event—the unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping seasonbegins at 6 p.m. Visit the MBA website for more information, or to find out how to get involved.

On Saturday, Moorestown Theater Company will put on its first-ever musical outside the township with a performance of The Jungle Book Kids at Westfield Friends School in Cinnaminson (AKA "Quaker Stage). Shows will be held at 2 and 7 p.m. You can buy tickets on their website.

And on Sunday, walk for a good cause at the Paige's Green Dream 5k/10k Walk at Moorestown High School. Proceeds from the event benefit the Epilepsy Foundation. Seventeen-year-old Paige Holland, a Moorestown student, passed away suddenly last year due epilepsy. Find out more about her story and register for the walk on the Paige's Green Dream website.
