Osteria Grand Opening, Council & BOE Meetings Highlight Week Ahead

Also, the Moorestown Jewish Association will hold its second annual Hanukkah party this weekend.

Last week's festivities at Osteria Moorestown may have been invite-only, but this week is your chance to finally try the eclectic Italian eatery—courtesy of acclaimed Philly chef Marc Vetri—for yourself.

The restaurant, Moorestown's first to serve alcohol since 1915, opens for dinner at 5 p.m. Monday. Expect business to be hopping opening night—according to general manager Martin Cugine, the restaurant could see around 300 customers.

If you're more interested in municipal government than Margherita pizza (or if you just can't get a table), stop by the IT room at Moorestown High School Monday night for a town council meeting. Council is expected to recognize Brian C. Wesolowski, Lenola Fire Co.'s Volunteer Firefighter of the Year, and Pastor Stanley Hearst, Sr. of Bethel AME Church.

Council will also discuss matters related to next year's reorganization—specifically appointments and meeting schedules. Here's the full agenda. The meeting starts at 7:30.

The Moorestown Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the media center at William Allen Middle School. Check out their agenda here

Moorestown Mall will host a signing Santa for members of the deaf community outside Lord & Taylor. For more information, visit the mall website or call 856-235-7602, ext. 23.

This weekend, catch Moorestown Theater Company's performance of tap spectacular Thoroughly Modern Millie, featuring 6ABC anchor Rick Williams, et al. Shows are 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, with a final show at 2 p.m. Sunday.

And finally, swing by the Moorestown Community House at 2 p.m. Sunday for the Moorestown Jewish Association's second annual Hanukkah party. Food, music, arts and crafts, and storybook reading for kids are among some of the many activities in store.
