Theater Premieres, Family Movie Night Highlight Week Ahead

Find out what's happening in Moorestown this week.

After what was hopefully a great Fourth of July holiday, it's back to business as usual this week. But "business as usual" doesn't have to mean "boring." There's plenty to do during the week ahead.

If you're a fan of the performing arts, you'll have several chances to take in live theater this week. Moorestown Theater Company premieres its Summer Stage production of Guys and Dolls, Jr. Wednesday (7 p.m.), with subsequent shows Thursday and Friday. And MoorArts lifts the curtain on Evita on Friday (8 p.m.), with additional shows throughout the weekend.

If you're more of a movie lover, skip the long lines and $10 tubs of popcorn at the theater and stop by the Moorestown Community House Tuesday for another installment in its free family summer movie series. This week it's Disney's The Little Mermaid, which starts at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom. Bring your own snacks, and any chairs, pillows and blankets you have for a fun, relaxing evening.

Cruise Night rolls back into town Wednesday (6-7 p.m.) at the Moorestown Shopping Center (200 W. Camden Ave.). The summer-long weekly car show features prizes, trophies, raffles, children's games and, of course, cars. Donations from the event go to local fire companies.

Moorestown Mall will host a Music Saves Lives blood drive at 1 p.m. Thursday, and all donors will receive a free VIP pass to the Vans Warped Tour, granting the donor access to a very special meet and greet.

Township council's Monday meeting has been cancelled, along with Tuesday's Open Space Advisory Committee meeting.
