I don't see how this law suit is going to stand up in court. How do you hold a township responsibleRead More for an act of mother nature? Especially if the township did no have prior notification to the condition. You go in the ocean, you do it at your own risk. What next. I got bit by a jelly fish so I think I'll sue the township? Doesn't make too much sense, does it.
antonio movado July 25, 2014 at 11:04 am
What a joke.. Ridiculous lawsuit.

"The sand caved in, pulling them out to sea".................Huh ? In all my years ofRead More experience with the beach and the ocean I've yet to see sand just "cave in". Anyone ever see that with their own eyes ?

In a rushed effort to respond, CC didn't really comprehend the lack of transparency referenced inRead More yesterday's letter. Maybe he didn't actually read it, like the previously commissioned solar report. No one, including the Dem candidates complained about the Sustainable Moorestown report. They pointed out that there were many unanswered questions, very legitimate questions about the qualifications of Maser, and why the rush to select them. This no bid contract stinks of pay to play cronyism and Chris only briefly alluded to that issue. That is yet another reason why he is an ineffectual mayor.

i think this whole thing seems like a good idea, if we can use the sun for energy that seems like aRead More cleaner and better way to do it so the town probably should
Bella Pelosi July 25, 2014 at 11:15 am
I am astonished that Mayor Chiachhio is attorney given his lack of knowledge and facts. Let's startRead More at the beginning, what happened to the solar plan that was proposed on land the town already owns? How much did that cost? Why was it stopped? Was the Mayor supportive of that plan or not? Where were the bids for consulting? Did they hire Maser like they did Capehart a few years ago? How much does Maser contribute to the candidates? What projects have they completed? For transparency purposes, why not post a timeline of events documenting the town's attempts to acquire and take title of the land as well as a summary of taxes owed/paid. Where is the analysis showing the best use of the land? Is it solar or commercial rateables? Show us the numbers if it is such a good plan. Lastly, the Mayor has politicized nearly everything in town for the past 4 years and constantly spews half-truths. If he wants to be taken seriously, be transparent.
(Still have my "Endres" Screwdriver he gave me)

Thanks and agree Bill. Let me run this theory by you; this is a solar smokescreen to draw attentionRead More away from the castle and the royal mess: IT still not functioning properly, phones and email still not functioning properly, still renting 2 executive drive, no co's on castle complex (finals) and let's not forget these are the same cowardly lions that insinuated our public workers were the bottom of the barrel and advertised the loss of their jobs without the simple common courtesy of letting them know, they read it in the papers upon arrival to work the next day.(anyone driving through town sees the great trash heap that is now moorestown) Maybe the patch will investigate and provide some info on the back up generator, that is needed for IT and phone backup at the castle, is the 50k generator needed fact or fiction? Or an article on the wiring for the castle complex and the recreation center on church street; who did this work and what was the cost in time and labor using our township employees? Just a theory? Or a solar smokescreen? Maybe the taxpayers will read in the paper they sold us out too.
When we're done in Lacey, Gloucester Twp, Burlington, and Trenton, sounds like an in-depth look atRead More Moorestown may be in order. Want help?

Plus posting the DWI check point has little effect since the drunkards can't read, better to broad cast it on Honey Boo Boo or The Jersey Shore Show .

Our Hearts and Prayers go out to the entire Kernan Family for their loss of this young, beautifulRead More young woman with a bright future ahead of her who was taken way too soon but was clearly loved by many and affected our community in a positive way during the time she was with us. I am sure that the people of Moorestown are here to help you grieve and support you through this however we can. RIP Katie from the entire Palko Family.

So the skatepark and the rink, which probably saw similar levels of usage are gone and while thereRead More was at least a little concern about the skatepark, those kids are told to shove off. No one appears to want to rink to be replaced, but yet "it will be replaced with a new rink"? By whose insistence? Who wants it?

Hmmm. We could use the funds we made selling the trash trucks, eliminating the insurance andRead More maintenance on trash trucks and the elimination of trash collection along with the elimination of the 11 job positions. What's that you say? We still own the trash trucks, still pay insurance on same and still maintain these trucks? Oh, the jobs were not eliminated, just moved a couple of employees to different departments. Oh, and our employees are still picking up trash and cleaning up all the items the contractor leaves at the curb. Jeez, sounds like we are losing money on that great deal. Maybe we could use all the money will save on the solar field.
Townie July 24, 2014 at 08:07 am
I came up with a 4th option....we could ask people what the term "manager" means in theRead More title we gave to our Township Manager. Oxymoron is more like it.

You get practically groped at the airports but the borders are wide open???? Why do we need homelandRead More security when the very people that are suppose to be watching out for our safety are the ones behind all this garbage. Wolves in sheep clothing. What a joke!

Greg Newcomer goes along with another Republican action item. How long until the Democratic PartyRead More asks him to formally join his GOP brethren so we can start fresh in 2016 after we take down Queen Jordan this year?

Let's not fool ourselves. Greg's only purpose was to keep a seat away from the Republicans otherwiseRead More we agree he is as incompetent as the leaderless mayors

Townie July 23, 2014 at 06:35 am
Two years ago Mr. Carew (among others) stopped a prior project because solar had lost its value.Read More Exactly what's changed (in the markets, not in leadership) to suggest we should now pay someone to manage a process we've already been through? Has Mr. Carew forgotten the issues? Is he too busy with the new town hall? Have I missed the spike in electricity prices or the jump in efficiency for solar technology? Maser has a business to protect, so they're going to sell you the virtue of an un-guided lily. The politicians are interested only in the market value of their "Green" initiatives the next time they run for office. Leadership is doing what's right...not what's perceived as popular. It's a real shame this town can't find any.
Bella Pelosi July 23, 2014 at 07:37 am
Well said Mr. Townie! One can only wonder how much Maser contributes to the County party. How manyRead More consulting firms do we have now? Ragan, Alaimo, Maser, Remington. Spreading the money around during an election year while the municipal lot is a dump and main street is unkept.
