Help Loved Ones Know You're Safe On Red Cross Website

This website allows people to tell loved ones they are safe.

Following Hurricane Sandy, it can be tough to reach all of your friends and family to let them know that you're OK. The American Red Cross has a "Safe and Well" registry that can help spread the word. You can go to the site and enter your information, and confirm that you're "safe and well." Then, friends and family can also go to the site and search for your name. Here are instructions from the Red Cross site: Register Yourself as “Safe and Well” Click on the “List Myself as Safe and Well” button to register yourself on the site. Search for Loved Ones Concerned family and friends can search the list of those who have registered themselves as “safe and well” by clicking on the “Search Registrants” button. Students Honor MLK With Day of Service

Blood drive, community service and Poetry Slam mark day.

At Moorestown High School, students were busy Monday despite school being closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Students began the National Day of Service with an American Red Cross blood drive, sponsored by the school’s Interact Club. The drive ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and had about 40 donors. “I am happy to donate and it’s cool to do so on a day of service,” said Brianna DeGroat. Added Brianna Defoe, an Interact Blood Drive chair: “I am dedicated to service in general and to the day of service, so this is a good day to be part of a blood drive.” The day continued with a guest speaker, Wali Rushdan, a law student at Rutgers University and the president of the Black Law Student’s Association.
