Police: Overnight Burglary on Leeds Road

Moorestown Police are reminding residents to be vigilant after someone slipped into a home and stole two wallets.

Moorestown Police said someone slipped into a home on the unit block of Leeds Road overnight and stole two wallets, containing credit cards, driver's licenses and $240 cash. According to a report, the burglar(s) entered through an unlocked kitchen window sometime overnight on Aug. 20 and swiped the wallets.  Residents are urged to be vigilant. If you see a crime or suspicious activity in progress, call 911. To report information after the fact, call 856-914-3092.

May 5 Criminal mischief, 6:20 p.m. — A resident on the 700 block of Mill Street reported damage to the home’s mailbox. The vandalism happening sometime overnight on May 4. May 9 Burglary, 8:02 p.m. — An unknown person broke into a home on the 300 block of Tom Brown Road between 8:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. Police said entry was gained by smashing a side window. The thief stole electronics.

'Pillowcase Burglars' Strike Cinnaminson, Say Police

Jewelry has been stolen from a few homes in the last month, police say, and they could be related instances.

Three home break-ins in the last five weeks have Cinnaminson Police thinking the burglaries are all related, said Det. Sgt. William Covert. Police have dubbed the suspects as the “pillowcase burglars” because in the Cinnaminson burglaries, as well as others in neighboring towns, pillowcases were taken to hold the jewelry stolen. Police here are currently investigating a burglary that occurred on Sunday, April 15, between the hours of 3:30 and 8 p.m. on the 100 block of Parry Road. “It’s very rare to get a daytime burglary on the weekend,” Covert said. Entry was made by smashing the glass out of a rear double-paned French door, said Covert. A large amount of jewelry was stolen. Police think the burglaries are related to two others in …

Police Investigating Another Burglary in West Side Neighborhood

The burglar(s) robbed the home on Evergreen Drive Wednesday, police said.

Moorestown Police are investigating a residential burglary on the 300 block of Evergreen Drive, the fourth such burglary in that neighborhood in the last two weeks. Police said the burglary occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and was reported Thursday. The resident was not at home when the burglary occurred. Jewelry and antique coins were stolen. According to police, there was no sign of forced entry. A home on the 500 block of Devon Road was burglarized on Monday afternoon. In that case, burglar(s) removed a screen from a rear window while the residents were out and stole jewelry, a Kindle, and a notebook computer. Moorestown Police Vigilant in Wake of Recent Burglaries

"We take a personal stake in this," says Moorestown officer. "We take this as seriously as the residents.”

After a pair of residential burglaries this weekend, Moorestown Police want residents to know they’re doing everything they can to solve the crimes and prevent more in the future. Burglars broke in to homes on Devon Road and Covington Terrace over the weekend while the residents were away and stole jewelry and electronics. Police also investigated a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries across Moorestown late last year. Sgt. Burglars Strike Same Neighborhood Twice in 24 Hours

Moorestown Police are investigating two weekend break-ins in which electronics and jewelry were stolen.

Moorestown Police are investigating two residential burglaries that occurred within 24 hours of each other in the same neighborhood. Police responded to the 500 block of Devon Road Saturday after a resident returned home and discovered someone had broken into their home by prying open a window. Electronics and jewelry were stolen, police said. The resident was out between 4-11:45 p.m. On Sunday, police responded to another burglary on the 600 block of Covington Terrace, just around the corner from the Devon Road break-in. Don't know why I bother responding to RR/ Helen/ Frank, since I'd take bets it's the same goof. Police (5 or 6) were out as soon as it was reported. Talking to neighbors, gathering info, letting people know what happened. An email (notifying people what happened) was sent out (within hours) to anyone that is registered on the township system.   more ›

Police Investigate New Year's Weekend Burglary

Sterling silver pieces and jewelry were stolen.

Moorestown Police are investigating a break-in that occurred over New Year's weekend.  According to police, someone forced their way into a home on the 200 block of Laurence Drive by smashing the glass window on a rear door. Once inside, the thief—or thieves—stole sterling silver flatware and serving pieces, as well as jewelry, police said. The residents of the home had been away since Friday. Police responded to the burglary report on Monday.  Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 856-914-3092.

Moorestown Police Investigate Another Attempted Burglary

Police responded to an alarm activation Saturday night at a home on Laurel Creek Boulevard.

Moorestown Police are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred Saturday night on Laurel Creek Boulevard. Officers responded to the 300 block of Laurel Creek Boulevard around 6 p.m. for a report of a glass break alarm activation, according to a department release. Patrols discovered the glass had been broken on the home's rear French door.  The burglar(s) did not get into the house, police said, and the residents were not at home. Anyone in the area at the time who may have seen anything is urged to call police at 856-914-3092, or call 911 for any suspicious activity.

Police: Burglars Robbed Three Homes in Last Two Days

Seven Moorestown homes have been struck by burglars in November, police say.

Moorestown Police have reported three residential burglaries in the last two days, bringing the number of burglaries or attempted burglaries to seven just within the last month. Following a break-in on Julia Court Sunday night, in which a large-screen TV was stolen, police reported two additional burglaries on East Central Avenue and Collins Avenue Monday. Residents of the 400 block of East Central Avenue who had been away returned home Monday and discovered someone had broken into their home through a kitchen window and stolen jewelry, police said. Moorestown Police Investigate Break-In

Police say a large-screen TV was stolen from Julia Court last night.

Moorestown Police responded to the unit block of Julia Court last night for a report of a burglary and found the suspect(s) had forced their way into a home through a rear laundry room door while the residents were away. The suspect(s) cut the telephone and cable wires and stole a 55-inch Samsung TV, police said. The theft occurred sometime between 6:30-7:15 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Department at 856-914-3092. If you see suspicious actvity, call 911.
