Brighten Your Day with a Little Moonlight

This kitten is just looking for a lap to sit and be petted in.

This pretty baby of 9 months is waiting for a family to fall in love with her and take her home. Moonlight has a sleek black coat and stand-out green eyes. She was surrendered to the shelter because her former owner was moving to a no-pets-allowed place, and so this sweet baby wound up stuck in a crate and carted off to a shelter. Moonlight is still a kitten though, and she is just waiting for a home where she can play with kitty toys and be petted, loved, and especially sit in a lap again. Won't you make this baby's wish come true? Please refer to her ID number C-52693 when calling the shelter at 609-265-5073.  Note: Adoption fees are waived for county employees, senior citizens residing in Burlington County and military personnel. Mature Staffie Looking for New Home

Friendly Vada would fit into just about any household—as long as there are no other dogs or cats.

Vada is a 6-year-old Staffordshire terrier female surrendered by her family. They state she is good with adults and children, but not other dogs or cats. She is housetrained and enjoys walking on her leash.  Vada could probably stand to lose a little weight, and what better way to do it than strolling around the neighborhood or in one of the county parks? She’s a friendly girl that would probably fit into just about any household, given some time to adjust. Vada is an adult dog that is done with all that silly puppy stuff and is ready to start over with a new family. She is a member of our Pooch With Perks Program. When you adopt, you will receive a Doggie Goodie Bag donated by the Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter. Please give …

Don't Judge a Cat by its Cover

Two-year-old Gia is up for adoption at the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

My name is Gia and I'm a 2-year-old female tabico, which is a very beautiful combination of a tabby and a calico cat. I have gray, brown and orange striping. I also have the precious face of a classic American shorthair. My vet said I am in good health, but scared at the shelter, which has caused me to overgroom myself. That's the reason my hair is very thin on half of my body. I'm a sweet and very affectionate kitty, and I'm sure once I am happily settled into my furrever home, all my gorgeous hair will grow back in. It's so sad how everyone judges me by my present look and walks on by even though I try to get their attention and show them I'm a beautiful kitty too. Please give me a chance and come meet me at the Burlington County Animal …

No Pictures, Please

He may not be the most photogenic feline, but 'sweet, affectionate' Kyle would make a great addition to any home.

Kyle was lounging around when the volunteer was trying to take his pic, so you can't really see what a very nice-looking cat he is. Kyle has a gorgeous sleek, shiny coat, and striking eyes. Kyle is only about 1 to 2 years old, so he has a lot of years yet to provide someone with feline companionship. Kyle is a sweet, affectionate cat that is hoping to find a true furever home. Please refer to his number C-52280 when contacting the shelter at 609-265-5073. Kyle is a member of our Purrfect Perks Program. When you adopt him,you will receive a Kitty Goodie Bag donated by a volunteer with the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter. Perky Poco Looking for Kissing Companion

This pet profile is courtesy of the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

Hi, my name is Poco and I am a beautiful 50-pound girl who came to the shelter as a stray. I'm about 2 to 3 years old and very friendly, and will lick your face if you give me the chance! See how big my smile is in my photos? I love getting out of my kennel and getting some attention. I could do with a bit of basic obedience training, but the nice volunteers at the shelter say my leash manners have improved considerably and I sit readily when asked. I really love being with people and I just love treats, so they say that makes me easier to train. Plus, I am just the best kisser!  So if you are as energetic as I am and love to play and take walks, well, I'm your girl. Just ask for Poco, and I'll pop right up to see you!   And hey, I'm a …

Friendly 'Lap Cat' Looking for a Home

This pet profile is courtesy of the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

Hi there! My name is Fiona and I am a medium-size, 3- to 4-year-young black and white cat. I loved having my picture taken, but I couldn't sit still because I was so excited by the attention. I love being with people and could be a lap cat. I'm cute, soft, friendly, outgoing, curious and I seem to be good with other cats. I hope you will stop in and visit with me because I'd love to be petted and you might discover I'd be a great addition to your family. Please refer to my ID number C-52182 when calling the shelter at 609-265-5073. Fiona is a member of our Purrfect Perks Program. When you adopt Fiona, you will receive a Kitty Goodie Bag donated by a volunteer with the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter Note: There are no …

Just Whistlin' Dixie

Looking for a dog, but don't want to deal with any of "that silly puppy stuff"? This "sweet senior" at the Burlington County Animal Shelter may be just what you're looking for.

Meet Dixie, a wonderful black lab who is great for hugging and petting. She's about 10 years old and around 70 pounds. That gives Dixie two strikes—an older, black dog. Dogs with these two "strikes" are harder to find homes for. But Dixie has great qualities. Dixie knows her stuff—she walks well on a leash, and will sit for a treat. Her tail never stops wagging. This is a really sweet senior dog that has years of love to give a new family. Her mellow temperament makes her a great companion for nearly every family. Dixie seems to exhibit the best qualities of the beloved Labrador breed, is still very active, and she is done with all that silly puppy stuff. And if you scratch her on her lower back, she'll do that leg thing some dogs can't …

Homeless Herbert Needs a Fur-ever Home

This pet profile is courtesy of the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

Hello, my name is Herbert and I love a good scratch! I got lost and ended up at this fine shelter, but I am so hoping to meet some friends that can take me home with them. I don't want to brag, but the folks here say I am sweet and shy. I just love to be showered with hugs and kisses. I enjoy a walk and I love sharing some affection with my handlers. I hope you'll consider stopping by to meet me—I'll be waiting for you!  Please refer to my number D-52070 when contacting the shelter at 609-265-5073.
