UPDATE: Roadwork Planned for Major Thoroughfare

Work continues on Riverton Road this week—anticipate delays.

UPDATE: Roadwork continues on Riverton Road this week, from the Cinnaminson Township line to Bridgeboro Road. One lane of traffic will be kept open, primarily for emergency response vehicles.  Moorestown Police advise that motorists should expect significant delays and seek alternate routes.  _________________ Take note, commuters: The county will begin resurfacing a 2.7-mile section of Riverton Road today. The project, which is expected to take about two weeks to complete, involves milling and overlay of Riverton Road from Route 130 in Cinnaminson to Bridgeboro Road in Moorestown. The work is expected to start Wednesday, May 1.  Traffic will be maintained with one lane alternating during milling and paving. Motorists may experience delays…

South Lenola Road Closed Next Week

A section of the road will be shut down during the day throughout next week while crews make repairs to the drainage pipe.

South Lenola Road, between Camden Avenue and Kings Highway, will be closed starting Monday, Nov. 12, as construction crews begin replacing 700 feet of drainage pipe. Construction is expected to begin Friday, Nov. 9, according to Joseph T. Brickley, public works director and county engineer. The construction will necessitate closing South Lenola Road between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day for about a week, weather permitting. A detour will be posted.   South State, Inc., of Bridgeton, is the contractor for the $168,332 project that involves replacing the existing deteriorated, perforated corrugated metal pipe with an 18-inch perforated polyethylene pipe. Moorestown Part of County Road Resurfacing Plan

The $7.7 million program will cover more than 20 miles along 16 roads in 14 towns, including several roads in and around Moorestown.

Freeholders this week reviewed the plans and specifications of Public Works Director Joseph T. Brickley’s annual road resurfacing program, for what is anticipated to cost $7.7 million to overlay 16 county roads in 14 municipalities for a total of 21.4 miles. Moorestown is included in that plan. The county would fund the project with $4.5 million from the annual NJ Transportation Trust Fund. The remaining $3.2 million would be funded by the county. Freeholders are expected to approve the plans and specifications and authorize advertising for bids at their Oct. 24 meeting.
