Most are going to college—quite a lot—but a few have other plans. Find out what the Class of 2012 will do after high school.
Now that they’re official alumni of Moorestown High School, the Class of 2012 is ready for the next step. For the majority, that means a four-year college. Ninety-two percent of the class—299 students—will head to a four-year university or college. Fifteen students chose to enroll in a two-year school instead. These schools are everywhere from around the corner at Burlington County College, to clear across the country at UCLA, and plenty of places in between. Moorestown’s Class of 2012 will fan out to 134 institutions of higher education this coming year. While the newest alumni of Moorestown High School graduated Tuesday evening, the family of injured senior Brianna Wittman accepted her diploma on her behalf.
Delivering her speech to the 2012 graduating class of Moorestown High School, valedictorian Leslie Fink summed up the battlefield of the last four years. “More obstacles are lying conquered behind us,” said Fink to her classmates from the podium. “We are not the children we once were. “We are more confident now… We go forward from here and different experiences will change us.” With a crowd of proud parents, grandparents, siblings and friends looking on, Fink and her classmates became the newest alumni to graduate from the high school in the football stadium during Tuesday evening’s commencement ceremony.
