It’s that time of year again! The school year is drawing to a close, and tons of preschool and elementary children are starting to pour into the Moorestown Library for an end-of-year visit. These lucky youngsters will enjoy library tours, story times, crafts and previews of summer programming. For many children, this is also the time when they get their very first library card. Township Seeks Answers to Two Big Questions

What should be done with the existing library? Where should the police and municipal court go? The township is turning to experts for advice.

With the help of its architect, Moorestown is hoping to soon put two unanswered questions to rest: What should it do with the existing library once the new one is built? Where should the police department and municipal court be located? Ragan Design Group, which has shepherded the town hall project, will investigate those two questions on behalf of the township for a $25,000 fee. Township manager Scott Carew said the work, and the associated fee, falls under the scope of the township’s original contract with Ragan. “We have this money, because of how much we bonded (for the town hall project), and how far below budget it came in at,” Carew said. Something BIG is Happening at the Moorestown Library

Clifford the Big Red Dog will visit the library (twice!) next week.

Something really BIG is happening at the Moorestown Library next week, and we’re calling all kids ages 2-6 to join in the fun. Clifford the Big Red Dog will be making two appearances at the library, and we’re planning HUGE celebrations in his honor. At 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, and again at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, Clifford himself will dropping by for a special story time with Clifford books, a short movie, a Clifford craft, and yummy treats for everyone. Be sure to bring your camera for a picture with Clifford in front of his giant doghouse! Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and any mom can tell you a handmade gift from the heart can make an impression that lasts long after her kids aren’t kids anymore.  So instead of taking your kids to the store to buy cards, why not pay a visit to the Moorestown Library, where kids can create original cards any mom or grandmom is sure to love? On Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, the Children’s Room is hosting a “Make Your Own Mother’s Day Card” event. Children of all ages are welcome to drop in any time during library hours and use our construction paper, stickers, markers, glue and other fun craft supplies to create one-of-a-kind cards for the special women in their lives. Library patrons can check out museum passes free of charge.

The Moorestown Library is pleased to announce patrons are now able to check out museum passes to allow you and your family to enjoy some of the many wonderful attractions so close to Moorestown. This program is brought to you by the generous support of the Friends of the Moorestown Library. Passes are available for:  The passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be checked out for a period of three days. ... And everyone's invited. Stop by the library Friday to celebrate National Library Week.

Where can you find Moorestonians—from babies to seniors—browsing, enjoying programs, meeting friends and neighbors, working, studying, reading the day’s news and checking their email? At Moorestown Library, of course.  The library is a daily gathering place for people of all ages and interests, and during the week of April 14, the country will recognize National Library Week. On Friday, April 19, the Moorestown Library will be celebrating the place of the library in our community and the fact that “Communities Matter @ Moorestown Library.” Join us from 7-9 p.m. that evening for a special event featuring live music, and so much more. Free Fun, A/C at Moorestown Library This Spring and Summer

The library will offer programs for kids of all ages this spring and summer. Registration is right around the corner.

If you’ve got kids from preschool through high school, be sure to mark your calendar for this Monday, April 15. That’s program sign-up day at the Moorestown Library, and we’ve got fun things in store this spring for kids of all ages. In May, the always-popular Mad Science will return to the library with three special programs for preschool and elementary school students. From 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 6, preschoolers ages 3-5 are invited to blast off with a “Stellar Space” event, where little astronauts-in-training will take a pretend trip to the moon to take a moon walk and collect moon rocks.    On Tuesday, May 7, at 4:15 p.m., kindergarteners and first-graders can learn the fundamentals of chemistry with Mad Science’s “Matter of Fact” …

There are always wonderful programs available at the library. Wouldn't it be nice if, after months of inaction, the township could restore the nine handicapped spaces in the Second Street parking lot to use by the public. Unload Your Old Books—or Buy Somebody Else's (for Real Cheap)

The Moorestown Library is looking for donations for two separate book sales in the coming months.

Running out of shelf space? Looking to get rid of some books? The Moorestown Library is currently accepting donations. We are accepting books of all ages, conditions and subjects, but we are specifically asking for gardening, farming and cookbooks. The library will hold a book sale at the Burlington County Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 18—opening day—featuring books on these topics. Be sure to stop by and visit us! If you can’t wait until May to shop our book sales, have no fear! We’ll also hold a book sale at the library as part of the National Library Week celebration from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 19. The Moorestown Library is planning a bunch of activities for National Library Week next month.

National Library Week is fast approaching (April 14-20), and Moorestown Library is gearing up to celebrate with this year’s theme: "Communities Matter @ Your Library." We’re planning a special evening of music with local singer/songwriter Neal Stephens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19. On that night, we will also welcome representatives from the many clubs and organizations in our community to host tables in the library highlighting what they do. But before the celebration can begin, we need to decorate, and we’re calling on the children of Moorestown to join us for a little "Community Building."
