Giving House Music A New Meaning
Two local families are among a growing number of people hosting house concerts.
Jen Hilinski and Dave Khanlian love live music. But the club scene was getting frustrating. Musical acts started too late and it was hard to hear the music through all the talking. So they decided to host their own shows. “It’s pretty cool to have an artist you really love come play in your living room,” said Khanlian. They are not alone. Mark and Elizabeth Hines host concerts in their home as well. “It’s great to have music in your house,” said Mark Hines. The names of the performers may not be familiar to everyone, but the artists that perform in their homes have traveled all over the world and are accomplished musicians.
