County Honors Fallen at Wreaths Across America Ceremony

More than 500 wreaths were donated by private sponsors to decorate the gravestones of veterans at Beverly National Cemetery.

Burlington County Freeholder Deputy Director Joseph B. Donnelly gave a solemn address Saturday to a crowd of several hundred who gathered at Beverly National Cemetery in Edgewater Park for the annual Wreaths Across America remembrance ceremony. Donnelly asked for a moment of silence to remember those who died Friday in the Newtown, CT shooting before thanking those in attendance for taking the time to honor those buried American veterans whose families and friends are no longer able to decorate their graves during the Christmas season. “Today, we are that family member, for we all belong to the same family whose first name is ‘proud’ and whose last name is ‘American,’’’ Donnelly said. Jersey Mike's Hosts 3rd Annual "Christmas in July" Fundraiser

Jersey Mike's hosts their third annual fundraiser to help put wreaths on headstones of fallen soldiers.

Jersey Mike’s Subs will celebrate their third annual “Christmas in July” fundraiser until July 15 by asking customers to donate to the cause. Jersey Mike’s will collect and match all donations for Wreaths Across America (WAA), a nonprofit organization that lays thousands of wreaths at the graves of fallen veterans on December 15, National Wreaths Across America Day. And if Jersey Mike’s gets 100,000 “likes” on their Facebook page, the company will donate an additional $25,000 to the organization.
