A landlord’s son arrived at an unoccupied home they own on the 600 block of Princeton Avenue in Maple Shade shortly before 8:30 a.m. and found an unknown pickup truck in the driveway, according to Maple Shade Police. While calling his father to ask about the truck, a man exited the front door with a container full of copper pipes. Maple Shade Police are seeking the public's help in finding a man who used a gun to rob the Sunoco on Route 73 last week.
Police are looking for a man who walked into a Sunoco gas station with a gun Friday night and walked out with $900. Maple Shade Police said the man entered the Sunoco at 3071 Route 73 South just before midnight Friday, April 26, with a gun in his waistband and held up the attendant. He was described as a thin white man, wearing a ball cap—possibly a black Under Armour cap—and a white long-sleeve, fleece-type shirt, which was pulled over his face. The suspect fled on foot after stealing approximately $900. The clerk was not injured, police said. Two Maple Shade men stole checks and a credit card from a township home and used them to buy heroin and other items, according to police. Maple Shade Police said William F. Clifford, 25, and Matthew R. Schafer, 25, entered a residence at Valley Glen Condominiums on March 19 and stole a credit card and bank checks. On March 23, Schafer cashed a check for $200, forging both sides, and split the money with Clifford to buy Camden in heroin, according to police. Both men also used the credit card around Maple Shade and Cherry Hill to purchase gift cards and other miscellaneous items totaling about $500. An unlicensed Cherry Hill man led police on a chase down Route 73 and Route 38 last week, which ended with him in custody and a police officer nursing an injured shoulder. James R. Beer, 52, was spotted driving erratically in the northbound lanes of Route 73 on March 19, police said, and Maple Shade officers attempted to stop him after he re-entered the township following a U-turn at Forklanding Road in Cinnaminson. But Beer instead led officers down nearly the entire run of Route 73 through the township before eventually pulling on to Route 38, where he was stopped after being blocked by an NJ Transit bus, police said. UPDATE: Police said Badame was found sitting in his car in front of his deceased parents' former home on the 2300 block of South Ninth Street in Philadelphia. The family transported him safely home to Maple Shade, and police have confirmed his arrival and well-being. ____________________ Maple Shade Police are asking for the public's help locating a 79-year-old township man who went missing after he left for church Tuesday morning. Police said Anthony Badame was last seen at his residence at 6 a.m. He left in a 1994 Toyota Camry, New Jersey tag VLC98L. Badame is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches, 170 pounds. According to police, Badame has Alzheimer's.

Maple Shade Police are seeking the public's help in solving a string of copper thefts.
A copper thief flooded part of a West Germantown Avenue neighborhood Sunday after stripping an empty house, Maple Shade Police say. Police responded to the 200 block of West Germantown Avenue at 9:51 a.m. after neighbors noticed their yards were flooding and discovered the copper piping had been cut out of an empty house nearby, which caused the crawlspace to flood and water poured out of the house onto adjacent properties, according to a report. The water department was called in to excavate in front of the house and shut the water off at the street. A Maple Shade police officer was taken to the hospital following a two-car crash at Route 73 and Forklanding Road in Cinnaminson Sunday afternoon, authorities said. Cinnaminson Police said the accident occurred around 3:15 p.m., involving a Maple Shade police cruiser and one other vehicle. The officer was taken to Kennedy University Hospital in Cherry Hill as a precaution and later released, according to Lt. Jeffrey Hoch, spokesman for the Maple Shade Police Department. Cinnaminson Police said the accident was still under investigation. No further details were available.

A Mount Laurel man who allegedly flashed a gun while robbing Rite Aid stores twice in the last week was arrested Thursday, and now faces a slew of charges, Cherry Hill Police said. Eric R. Harbinson, 29, of the 4000 block of Burryport Way, allegedly hit the pharmacies on Jan. 31 and Feb. 4, flashing a gun tucked into his pants to clerks working the front registers, police said. Surveillance footage in the Jan. 31 robbery captured his distinctive black jacket, which was emblazoned with a skull and crossed revolvers on the back.
