SJ Boys Read, Neighbor

SJ Boys Read is an organization in southern New Jersey that encourages young guys to read.  It was creaetd by tenth grade boys Kyle Thumar and Cameron Pendino, with the help of eighth grader Nikhil Thumar.  In May of 2011, ninth grader Shailen Doshi became a leader of SJ Boys Read as well. SJ Boys Read holds events several times each year.  At these events, a group of boys discuss selected books with discussion questions, play games, win prizes, have snacks, and have a fun time. 

SJ Boys Read started in the summer of 2008, at the Moorestown Barnes and Nobles, with the help of two of Kyle's and Cameron’s favorite elementary school teachers. Since then, SJ Boys Read has grown rapidly, with more and more guys interested in and attending the group events.  

They also hold events at the Moorestown Public Library targeted for grades two and three.
