Teachers, School Board Reach Tentative Contract Settlement

The Moorestown Board of Education and Education Association are expected to approve the contract Wednesday night.

The Moorestown Board of Education and the Moorestown Education Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract after a 16-month , according to a release from Superintendent John Bach.

The teachers had been without a contract since June 30, 2010. Both sides had been awaiting a fact finder's report since earlier this summer.

The new contract will run through June 30, 2013, once ratified. The settlement is the result of "intense bargaining" over the Labor Day weekend, Bach wrote.

Details of the settlement are confidential until both parties have approved it, but the superintendent said it "advances a reasonable and responsible solution to the contract dispute."

The board of education meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at William W. Allen Middle School.
